Reflick looks at the screen you are already looking at and listens when you hold a key. That is a lot of trust, so this page says plainly what leaves your Mac, what stays on it, and what we never ask for.
The short version. Reflick sends a screenshot and what you said to an AI provider so it can answer, and it sends nothing when you are not asking it something. Your history, your corrections and anything you taught it stay on your Mac in files you can read and delete. We never request Full Disk Access, and Reflick does not read your Mail, Messages or Notes databases.
Who we are
Reflick is a product of ELAQ Limited ("we", "us"). For anything on this page, write to support@reflick.my.
What leaves your Mac, and only when
Nothing is captured or transmitted in the background. A transfer happens only in direct response to you holding a shortcut, tapping a gesture, or typing a command.
| What | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your voice | Deepgram | Turned into text while you speak. Streamed, not stored by us. |
| A screenshot | OpenAI | Only for requests that need to see the screen. Not sent for questions that do not. |
| Your question | OpenAI | To produce the answer. |
| The reply text | Cartesia | Turned into the voice you hear. |
All of it travels through our own service at api.reflick.my, which holds the provider
keys so that no credentials ship inside the app. That service passes your request to the provider and
returns the answer. It does not retain your screenshots or transcripts.
Screen contents
A screenshot is a picture of whatever is in front of you at that moment, which may include a document, an email, or a window belonging to someone else's software. Reflick captures the display your pointer is on, and it excludes its own windows. If something confidential is on screen when you ask a question, it is in that screenshot. Move it or close it first.
What stays on your Mac
These live in your Application Support folder and never leave the machine unless you export or send them yourself:
- Past agent runs, with the command and what was done
- Corrections you typed and facts you asked Reflick to remember
- Scenarios and workflows you taught it, under the names you gave them
- Skills you installed or wrote
- Your settings, including which gestures and voice you chose
You can read all of it as plain Markdown from Settings → Privacy → Open the knowledge base, and erase all of it from the same screen. Erasing is immediate and permanent, and it does not require contacting us.
Permissions we ask for, and the ones we do not
| Permission | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Accessibility | Reading the names and positions of on-screen controls, and clicking or typing when you ask Reflick to do something. |
| Screen Recording | Taking the screenshot that a screen question needs. |
| Microphone | Hearing you while you hold the talk shortcut. |
| Full Disk Access | Never requested. Reflick has no access to your Mail, Messages, Notes or Photos databases. |
All three are granted by you in System Settings and can be revoked there at any time. Revoking one disables the part of Reflick that needs it and nothing else.
Accounts, payment and runs
Reflick identifies your installation with a token stored in your Mac's Keychain. It is tied to a balance of agent runs, not to a name: creating an account requires no email address and no password.
Payments are handled by our payment processors, Stripe and Revolut. Your card details are entered on their systems and are never seen by Reflick or by ELAQ Limited. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the runs it bought.
Analytics
Reflick ships with no analytics SDK and sends no usage telemetry. There is an optional local diagnostics counter in Settings → Developer, off by default, which records counts and durations on your Mac only and has no network path.
Your rights
Because the data that identifies you is minimal and most of what Reflick knows is already on your own machine, you can exercise most rights without us: read it, export it, and delete it from Settings → Privacy. To delete your account and its balance, use Settings → Privacy → Delete account, or write to support@reflick.my.
If you are in the UK or the EEA, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the applicable data protection law, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
Children
Reflick is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your Mac, we will say so on this page and date it. The date at the top is always the date of the current version.
